Florida DOH Chronic Disease Resources Online Provider Education Modules
The Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion strives to be a leader in developing a unified statewide public health system to prevent, detect, and reduce complications of chronic diseases and conditions such as arthritis, cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, heart disease, obesity and stroke. One overarching goal is to increase the access to knowledge and training opportunities for healthcare professionals in the selected curriculum areas and to enhance their ability to provide quality care for patients.
Toward that end, the Bureau, through its Comprehensive Cancer, Diabetes Prevention and Control, Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, and Obesity Prevention Programs, in collaboration with the St. Petersburg College CE Health Program, provides the Chronic Disease Resources Online Provider Education Modules for healthcare professionals.
CME/CE Target Audience: Florida physicians, nurses and dieticians.
Cost:
Length of Module: 50-60 minutes per module (does not include time taking pre- and post-tests).
CME/CE: Available for specific disciplines (most at 1 contact hour); those not seeking credit may also access.
Format: Synchronized on-demand audio-visual educational modules.
Registration: Must be completed before accessing DOH modules.
