Who We Are
In 2006, a partnership was developed between the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and St. Petersburg College (SPC) to provide online continuing education in the areas of Diabetes, Heart Disease and Stroke, Cancer and Obesity.

These online modules were targeted to Florida physicians, nurses, dieticians and physician assistants.

To enhance our approved provider professions, the Florida Area Health Education Center Nework partnered with SPC to provide CME.  A long-standing relationship between Gulfcoast North Area Health Education Center and SPC to provide education to healthcare professionals, especially in underserved regions, became the building block for this collaboration.

Originally, OnlineCE.net was created via a partnership between Sun Sentinal/Vital Signs magazine and SPC.  Courses were simultaneously published in Vital Signs magazine and on SPC's Online CE website.

As the first Community College online site for healthcare professional continuing education, OnlineCE.net set the standard for excellence that is continued today.
